My rate is currently $75 per track. Many of my clients are independently producing artists who are paying out of their own pocket to get their projects across the finish line – I’m happy to chat about a rate that works for you for LPs and longer format projects.

What are your rates?

Frequently asked questions…

Typically, having your mixes top out at around -2dB true peak is a good place to start. While headroom is important, what’s more important is dynamic range. The more dynamic your mix is, the more I have to work with. While I’m happy to listen to examples of your mixes with dynamic processing for reference, please remove any limiting or extreme compression on your track’s stereo buss.

How loud should my mixes be when I send them?

How loud are you going to make my music?

In a word: competitively.

How loud any given project can be, or should be, depends on a lot of factors. How dynamic is the mix? What instruments are forward in your mix? What genre is your music? For instance, classical and pop probably won’t play back at the same level. All of these variables (and many more) dictate how loud a master should be.

My goal is to make your project competitively loud while retaining the honesty and feel of the mix that was submitted. Quality should never be sacrificed for “volume.”

What file formats do you accept? What’s the best way to send them?

I accept lossless, 24 bit stereo files (.wav, .aiff, etc.) with sample rates up to 192k. No 16 bit files, please!

There are several good file sharing services online. I use WeTransfer for delivery. I’m happy to receive your files through one of the alternative services (dropbox, etc.)

Sure do. I’m happy to talk about the different requirements for different delivery formats and specifications.

Do you do masters for vinyl and CD’s?

How long will it take for you to master my project?

A typical turnaround time is around 24 hours for a single and 48 hours for an EP, LP, or longer format project.

Short answer, sometimes.

Usually, I’ll take on projects from artists whose work I’m a huge personal fan of. If you think that’s you, give me a shout.

I’m happy to help you get your mix to 100% or give notes. For more on that, click here.

Do you still do mixing?
